Day 2 Four Woah Care Two (Purwokerto)

(From left to right) Mass, Pingpong (both from Thailand), Cristine and me

FOUR

Two brave souls traveled abroad to teach and experience life in a foreign land. Two souls met another two more souls who will join the voyage of knowledge and experience things at hand. The following morning we wake up after a quick slumber to prepare to meet two more exchange students from Thailand. Before we went to the airport, we ate breakfast together with Sir Amir. On our table were several unfamiliar dishes for our eyes. There were fish, chicken and vegetables that we sumptuously feast in. Of all the dishes we munched, my favorite was “tempe” a fried dish made of soy beans but taste like tuna. After we had a heavy loaded breakfast and freshen-up, we head straight back to the airport to meet our co-exchange teachers from Thailand. The two foreign souls in a wonderful land, double its size and form a bond. From two we are now four

Tahu and Tempe. A famous Indonesian dish both made of soy beans

WOAH

At Gambir train station, waiting for the train that will take us to Purwokerto

The band of four is set to travel, to a destination with majestic surprises waiting to be unravel. From the airport we rode a bus going to Gambir train station. On our way to train station, we saw several skyscrapers showcasing the blooming economy of country. Block after block, are cascading towers that makes us say Woah!. We also saw the other side of the progressing city, which inspired me personally to be good in educating students, for they are the future nation builders of the next generation. Woah for all the amazing things that my eyes have witness, both good and bad that give me more urge to teach with boldness.

CARE

A Superb train experience. It is my first time to ride a train for more than an hour.

As I travel along with other exchange students, one thing that struck me the most is the care that was given to us by the receiving university. The international affairs officer who accompanied us sees to it that we will not feel hungry and alone. He entertained us and keep us informed on what are the things that needs to be done. The care provided to us makes us feel that we are not thousand of miles away from home.

We finally arrived at Purwokerto

TWO

A terrace outside our room in MESS UMP

Few hours of being enclosed in a train, alas we reached our destination, the peaceful city of Purwokerto. It was late at night that we arrived. Outside the train station is a car waiting to fetch us and take us to the place where we will stay. At the back of the university is a MESS hall. It is an apartment type building built for guest students and visitors of the university. Our group was split in to two based on gender. I am glad that we can finally take a rest after a long day of traveling from one place to another. The room is furnished and is wide, enough for 2 or more students to share. After taking a hot shower, I then rest my body for a good treat of slumber.
